Malabar, October 1, 2016 – The Managing Director/CEO of Northwest Petroleum has been conferred with the Positive Impact Award by the Cross River State Government.

The award which was conferred on her on Saturday as part of the October 1 Independence celebrations in the state is “in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the development of Cross River State and Nigeria in general.

In an award certificate dated Saturday, October 1, 2016 and Signed by Rose Mary Archibong, Commissioner for Information and Orientation on behalf of the Cross River State Government, and Kammonke Abam, CEO, Profiles & Biographies, Mrs. Akpani was also recognized for distinguishing herself in “philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, community development and the oil and gas sub-sector of the economy”

Presenting the award, the Governor, represented by his Deputy, Professor Ivara Ejemot Esu described Mrs. Akpani as someone with strong social responsibility ethos which made her to provide petroleum products at pump price to everyone in all her filling stations at the peak of the fuel scarcity. She was represented at the award presentation event by the Head of Corporate Communications & Brand of Northwest Petroleum & Gas Co. Limited- Mr. Adedayo Adegun.

The award was in collaboration with Profiles & Biographies, a biographical and supplemental information management company.
