Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Head of IT to lead and manage our information technology operations across upstream and downstream activities. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in the oil and gas industry, strong ERP expertise in Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365, and the ability to manage and support Java-based in-house applications. The role involves overseeing infrastructure, systems integration, application support, cybersecurity, vendor relationships, and ensuring IT aligns with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the IT strategy, infrastructure, and operations across upstream exploration/production and downstream refining/distribution.
- Manage, maintain, and optimize ERP systems including Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) and Dynamics 365, ensuring seamless integration across departments (Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, etc.).
- Oversee the development, support, and scaling of Java-based in-house applications critical to business operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify IT needs, automate processes, and improve data flow between field operations and back-office systems.
- Ensure system security, data integrity, and compliance with industry and regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, oil & gas-specific standards).
- Lead and mentor an internal IT team and manage external IT vendors or service providers.
- Develop and manage IT budgets, procurement, and vendor contracts.
- Design and enforce policies for IT operations, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the IT environment future-ready.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with at least 4 years in a managerial or leadership role, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 ERP platforms (implementation, customization, user support).
- Solid knowledge of Java-based enterprise applications, with ability to manage or support application development and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, network systems, and cloud-based solutions.
- Familiarity with upstream (E&P) and downstream operational systems and requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and risk management in industrial settings.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals / Functional Consultant
- ITIL, PMP, or similar project management certification
- Experience with SCADA, GIS, or other oil and gas-specific technologies
- Exposure to DevOps and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
